Grab a friend and join us for an Introduction to Punchneedle. Punchneedle embroidery is a mini version of rug punch. The technique is at least 100 years old and is sometimes referred to as Bunka, Igolochkoy or Russian Punch Needle.
The design is drawn on Weaver's cloth, and a variety of threads will be used to 'punch' the image. Punchneedle projects are usually small, can be worked fast...and are very addicting! When finished, they can be framed, applied to a variety of containers, or used on clothing or purses.
This technique class is for the Very Beginner. We will create a Sampler to practice the technique and some of the things you can do to give your projects some dimension, so you can understand any pattern or design-your-own.
Class Fee: $45, includes weaver's cloth and threads The Ultrapunch Needle ($26) and a 9" Morgan Hoop ($16.99), will be provided during class and can be purchased afterwards. Students receive 10% discount on all class supplies.
